Give a creative guy a mediocre PC, all the time in the world [Pandemic ðŸ˜] and open-source free software and this is what you get!
1] This CG character was completely created in Blender and mark my words this wonder software is going to revolutionize the animation world.
2] To create this I started with sculpting the character in digital clay, it's amazing but you end up with too many polygons.
3] Then I had to retopologize the model to make it low poly.
4] Then it was Unwrapped, which is more like mapping the 3d co-ordinates on a 2d plane for texturing
5] Then the bird was textured in Blender, I know this software is wearing too many hats, but that's not the end.
6] Then I groomed the bird with all these lovely feathers.
7] And then rigged it.That's when you add bones and skin to the 3d model and make a functional armature out of it.
And then I posed it and Rendered it in Cycles.
We are already living in the future, never before was this powerful a tool ever available to artists for free, no strings attached.
